Autism Support of Kent County, Inc.
April is Autism Awareness Month, and our non-profit partner is Autism Support of Kent County! ASK works to provide services that make it possible for individuals with autism to lead healthier and more productive lives!
ASK funds programs, worth over $40,000 annually, for individuals affected by Autism Spectrum Disorder and their families!
ASK provides funds for things like:
• Music Therapy in many ASD classrooms
• Project Lifesaver, which helps find kids who wander and become lost
• Special art programs
• Relaxed and welcoming family events
• Informational and supportive speakers for parents
• Fun, sensory-friendly events for kids
• Opportunities to play soccer
• Ongoing resources for parents, caregivers, teachers, and professionals
• Community-based activities for low-income students with autism
• Social and connection groups for teens and young adults with autism
• Summer camp at Indian Trails
As always, you can benefit our monthly non-profits simply by dining with us throughout the month and especially on our Event Day - Monday, April 24* - where 50% of food sales will be donated.
*The upstairs taproom will be "sensory sensitive" to allow a comfortable dining area for all our guests.
Each month, the Mitten Foundation will partner with a different local non-profit organization in an effort to raise both funds and awareness. With the help of its staff and customers, the Mitten has raised more than $100,000 for local organizations since opening in 2012.
The foundation's criteria for choosing non-profit partners is twofold: the organization must be local, and they must be small enough that the donation will make a measurable difference. The foundation strives to connect each dollar donated to the effect it has.
The Mitten Brewing Company was humbled to receive the West Michigan Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professional’s 2015 “President’s Award” in recognition of its commitment to fundraising. The company plans to expand its community involvement efforts as it grows, and they recently started an employee volunteer program that provides staff with opportunities to become personally involved with non-profit partners.
For more information about the Mitten Foundation’s monthly non-profit partners, how you can get involved with the foundation, and all other donation inquiries, please contact Non-Profit & Event Coordinator Dana Mate Dones at email@example.com
We hope you will consider giving to support Mitten Foundation endowment! Donating to the endowment allows you to support the organization in perpetuity. The endowment goes to benefit our monthly charity partners, and by helping to build the endowment you are pledging your support. Being a hero is just a click away!
